Hidden at the Back

The back of the dress has sewn eyelets for lacing up the bodice. The eyelets are set between two sections stiffened by whalebone that help to reinforce the eyelets against the wear caused by the lacing. The buttoning is concealed on the outside of the garment with the aid of overlapping fabric. A string is sewn on the outside of the lower part of the bodice, for attaching the train.
