Frequently Asked Questions Before Your Visit
You need to hang your outerwear in the museum cloakroom, located next to the museum shop. There are lockers where you can store your coats. Smaller bags are allowed inside the museum.
Unfortunately, we are unable to store suitcases. The nearest luggage lockers are at Stockholm Central Station.
The lockers measure 48 cm high, 24 cm wide and 24 cm deep.
Public transport
Take the metro to Gamla stan or Kungsträdgården, or a bus to the Slottsbacken stop.
Car and parking
Bus parking is available nearby. During summer, the area is only for drop-off and pick-up.
Car parking is available on nearby streets. It is possible to reach the museum by car or taxi.
Accessible parking
There are only a few parking spaces directly outside the museum. Accessible parking is available at Gubbens gård. To park at Gubbens gård, visitors must collect a key from the reception.

No, the Royal Armoury does not have a café or restaurant. There is no space for eating packed meals. Due to the sensitive museum environment, food and drinks are not allowed in the exhibitions, entrance area, or shop.
However, there are several restaurants in Gamla stan close to the museum.
Unfortunately, strollers are not allowed inside the museum exhibitions.
There are a few places to leave strollers near the museum entrance, and it is also possible to lock strollers outside the museum in a designated area.
Starting 7 January 2026, the museum visitor toilets will be renovated.
During the renovation, visitors can use the toilet facilities near Slottsboden.
Unfortunately, there will be no accessible toilet available during this time.
Only guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed inside the museum.
We offer free Wi-Fi to visitors.
The username and password are available at the museum ticket desk.
You are welcome to photograph and film in our exhibitions, and to share your images on social media. Photography with flash, tripods and selfie sticks is allowed.
For safety reasons, selfie sticks are not allowed in the carriage hall one floor down.

If you are looking for photographs of specific objects, you can search in our database.
Most images of objects in the collections are licensed under CC BY, which means they are free to use provided that the photographer and/or the Royal Armoury are credited when the image is published.

For visitors with mobility impairments
The museum is accessible for wheelchairs.
There is a lift to the entrance (with automatic door opener) and lifts to all floors.
An accessible toilet is available.
Personal assistants receive free admission.
For visitors with visual or hearing impairments
An audio guide with audio description is available for our permanent exhibition.
A hearing loop is not available.
For visitors with strollers
Unfortunately, strollers are not allowed inside the exhibitions.
There are places to leave strollers near the entrance, and it is also possible to lock them outside the museum in a designated area.
In the museum entrance you will find a small but well-stocked shop with a selection that changes over time.
