Embroidery Takes Centre Stage

Inspired by the vibrant exhibition Hatt Couture, members of Skapande Broderi Stockholm gathered at the Royal Armoury during the spring to explore the theme of hats through free embroidery.

The exhibition presents works by 81 embroiderers who interpret the hat in highly personal ways – with creativity, playfulness, and thoughtful reflection.

Founded in 2012, Skapande Broderi Stockholm is a non-profit, politically and religiously independent association dedicated to free embroidery. The group serves as a meeting place for those who enjoy embroidery without rules or expectations. Over the years, its members have met weekly in public spaces across the city and collaborated with several museums in Stockholm, drawing inspiration from their collections.
