From 7 January 2026, the museum’s visitor restrooms will be renovated. Restrooms are available at Slottsboden. The lift to the carriage hall is out of order until January 9th.

Vivat Regina

In collaboration with Church of Sweden, some of the magnificent objects used at Kristina, Queen of Sweden's coronation in 1650 were shown at the very place where the coronation took place in the Stockholm Cathedral.

Unique objects

Few countries in the world have preserved coronation props from the Baroque. The Hereditary Prince's hat in the picture is worn by future king Karl X Gustav at Queen Kristina's coronation in 1650.

The Queen's coronation mantle

Queen Kristina's famous purple coronation mantle in velvet, cut with a long, narrow trailer, was showed in the Stockholm Cathedral. The mantle was originally ordered in Paris for Queen Kristina's coronation. Since then, several regents have been crowned with the same mantle, including Karl X Gustav and Ulrika Eleonora.
