Coolcation at the Royal Armoury

Are you visiting Stockholm this summer and want to learn more about Sweden's royal history? Welcome to the Royal Armoury in the Stockholm Old Town and enjoy the sight of sparkling carriages, splendid suits of armour, and unique royal costumes.

June 1- August 31, we are open daily the whole summer, 10.00-17.00.

The Theatre King

Upstairs in the museum, you will find the popular exhibition about the flourishing theater life of the 18th century. Here, about fifty unique costumes from both the Royal Armoury and The Royal Swedish Opera are on display this summer.

The sparkling carriages

Below ground in the museum, in the old palace vaults, the royal carriages are lined up. Once upon a time they were used by kings and queens for various ceremonies such as weddings, coronations and funerals. Just imagine them being pulled along the streets by teams of splendid horses!
